Though logging, legal or otherwise, has always been an issue, it is the attemted conversion of forests into farmland that is largely to blame for their destruction.


How does cetification works?
The FSC' program is the most prominent certification program for lumber, though other organizations have their own schemes. The bulk of environmental groups, including Rainforest Alliance and Forest Ethics, promote the FSC program and logo, and point consumers toward certified suppliers.
